But sometimes I enjoy the hell out of making front-page idiots blow their top by calmly responding to them and refusing to engage in a flame war.

I've been trying that more lately. I used to feed the trolls, but now, not so much. Some guy went through the chat I was having about Dodge with a few folks (under the good car/bad carmaker post) and literally replied ether "Dodges are crap" or just the word "crap" to every one of my/their posts. So I just went through and replied "Wut" or "okay cool" to all of them. Hehehe

I've previously replied to some of them with a calm statement of my opinion and then "but you seem like kinda an asshole so I'd best stop feeding the trolls." That gets some fun replies.

I am always guilty of feeding trolls, since I always get this gigantic sense of justice welling up within me.
Recently though, I just couldn't be fucked to respond. I'm getting tired of losers like them.

No, YOU'RE a great big steaming stinky of BS/fucktard/ignoramus/poopoo head!!!
My favorites are the "kill yourself" posts, but we only get those when the FP articles get linked to Gawker.

That was literally a 1st grader comeback. I couldn't resist a snort.

All of those ridiculous personal attacks might as well be from a 4th grader who just learned to cuss and say cut down insults.
I personally blame Call of Duty.

The user you had to respond to seems to have a history of this. You took the high road, very classy of you and honesty the only way to go about it. Also, btw, I totally agree with what you said.
I don't get it...life is too short to literally lose your shit over a guy who disagrees with you on the internet. And even if you want to get upset for a bit, why not use rational, realistic arguments instead of using silly, pointless insults and name-calling? Doesn't really make your point any more compelling or get anyone on your side. The internet is a strange place sometimes.

Relatable...for me arguing with someone is usually a case of not me trying to prove I'm right and the other person is wrong because I care so much that I'm right and they're not...more about I care about the fact that if someone is saying something that is untrue and factually false, I have a very hard time letting it slide. It's a flaw, I know. But ultimately arguing with people you will never see isn't very fruitful.
